MiND Biosciences is developing molecular tools to improve how neurodegenerative disease is understood and measured. Starting with motor neurone disease, our research connects epigenetic discovery with the development of potential blood-based tests for diagnosis and monitoring.

Turning molecular insight into practical information

Changes in gene regulation and activity can provide clues to disease biology. MiND brings together different layers of molecular information to identify patterns associated with MND/ALS and investigate their potential as biomarkers.

Our aim is to translate these discoveries into measurable information that could support clinicians and researchers.

There is a clear need for better ways to understand and monitor MND/ALS. Our initial research programme focuses on identifying disease-associated signals and assessing whether they can be translated into useful blood-based tools.

From discovery towards validation

Our initial discovery studies have identified disease-associated molecular signatures in MND/ALS models. We are progressing tissue and patient-sample studies and developing approaches to assess whether selected signals can be reliably measured in blood.

Validation is essential to understanding whether these findings can support future clinical applications.
