Initial focus: Motor Neurone Disease

Our initial focus: MND/ALS
MiND Biosciences is initially applying its biomarker discovery platform to motor neurone disease (MND), also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
MND/ALS is a complex, rapidly progressive neurodegenerative disease. Diagnosis currently relies on clinical assessment, the progression of symptoms and the exclusion of other conditions. Without a single reliable diagnostic test, patients can face a prolonged and difficult diagnostic journey.
There is also a significant need for biomarkers that can provide greater insight into disease biology, help track disease progression and support the development and evaluation of new therapies.
These challenges make MND/ALS an important starting point for MiND. By examining changes in gene regulation and activity, we aim to identify molecular patterns associated with disease and investigate their potential as measurable biomarkers. Our research is focused on generating evidence that could ultimately support future applications in diagnosis, disease monitoring and therapeutic development.
While MND/ALS is our first disease focus, it represents the starting point rather than the limit of our technology. MiND is developing a broader epigenetic and epitranscriptomic biomarker platform with the potential to be applied across other neurodegenerative diseases and areas of significant unmet clinical need.
Beginning with MND/ALS enables us to focus our research, validate our scientific approach and establish a pathway for broader applications of the platform.
